For the first time, the Philippine Consulate talked and taught Arab employers on how they should treat their Filipina domestic helpers. The meeting was presided by Social Welfare Attache Mrs. PrescillaRason.
Ed Badajos posted photos on his Facebook account regarding the said meeting. Some of the topics tackled in the meeting is the right of every Filipino domestic helper to have their passports, days-off, food and rest, clean and safe room and right salary which will be given on-time.
The meeting happened in KhamisMushayt, the same place where members from the Philippine Consulate was mobilized.
The Philippine Consulate will hold another meeting to tackle this issue in different areas of Western Region in Saudi Arabia including Jeddah.
This move should resolve the ongoing crisis of abused and maltreatment to Filipino domestic helper not just in Saudi Arabia but to other Middle East countries.
