The United Kingdom opens its doors to 16,000 Filipino nurses while Hong Kong is in need of 154,000 household service workers, says Manila labour official. This can be a very good alternative to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who got affected by the recent total deployment ban in Kuwait.
The government is also urging interested applicants to apply for jobs in countries like Japan, US, New Zealand and Australia.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has released an approved list of job offers which was made available since March 9.
“We have alternative markets and they (OFWs) can use their experience in Kuwait to their advantage,” says Deputy Administrator of POEA Jocelyn Sanchez.
The current total deployment ban in Kuwait has affected about 10,000 skilled workers, said the Coalition of Licensed Agencies for Domestic and Service Workers (CLADS).
As per the POEA database, these countries are in need of the following workers:
