The sacrifices of an OFW mother working in Spain had been paid off when her son was among this year’s batch of graduating students of the Philippine National Police Academy. Not only that he already graduated, he also tops his class being their Valedictorian.
In a social media post of ABS-CBN News on Twitter, Cadet First Class Fritz John Vallador lead the 106 graduates of the PNPA Maragtas Class of 2018. John is the son of a domestic helper from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Despite his victory, there is a part of him that seemed empty as he never met his father his entire life. Sadly, his mother also has to leave and work as an OFW so she can provide for their needs.
Luckily, in their absence, there are people who were able to help him and served as his guardian.
“Meronnaman pong tumayongbagong papa sa akin, kaya it’s just normal. Kahitnawalaakongtatay, nanditoakosaharapanniyo, nagsumikap at naabotko ang tugatog ng tagumpaynaito.”
On his graduation, John was saddened by the fact that his mother cannot attend and witness his victory. He claimed he is sad but is can understand the situation of his mother.
With him on his ‘big day’ is his auntie who guided him since he was in 5th Grade.
Aside from being the Class Valedictorian, he will also receive a Presidential Kampilan Award and Plaque of Merit from President Rodrigo Duterte.
