Relatives of an OFW currently working in Kuwait is puzzled as to how come the domestic helper was there because she originally left the Philippines to work in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. What even made them worried is the fact that the OFW is found to be in a comatose state in a hospital in Kuwait with unknown health condition.
A Filipino worker named NorisaManambit, a 36-year old migrant worker had been reported missing after her family was unable to contact her since the last quarter of 2017.
According to an interview with Norisa’s niece, Lady Mae Besa on a Catholic ran radio station dxND, they learned of her auntie’s case when a video of Norisa had been posted by a Filipino nurse on social media to be able to let her relatives knew about her condition.
Apparently, they had reported that Norisa had been missing to her agency last January after they failed to get in touched with her. Their last conversation was in the last quarter of 2017 and since then, they never had the chance to communicate with her.
On the other hand, they were puzzled as to how the OFW is now in Kuwait hospital and in a state of coma while she left to work in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Norisa’s friends informed them that she had an argument with her previous employer when she was caught using her mobile phone. The said argument sparked a fight which prompted her employer to call the police who arrested her. To their surprise, they didn’t find Norisa when they visited her in Dammam prison.
Upon learning this, Norisa’s family sought the help of her agency here in the Philippines where they were informed by one staff not to share that the OFW was missing on social media or to any government as they are still conducting an investigation.
Unfortunately, days had passed but the agency had not updated them with Norisa’s whereabouts.
“But weeks had passed and we were not given yet the information that we need to appease us.”
“The agency has promised to update us of my aunt’s case. But until now, they would only give us false promises.”
She also claimed that the agency cannot give them the actual health condition of her aunt.
Meanwhile, Lady Mae claimed that her aunt had been to Saudi Arabia twice to work as domestic helper and that she is a documented migrant worker. Considering the case of Demafelis, they are now very worried about Norisa’s condition.
“We are praying she’s okay.”
“But we’re in a limbo that is why we’re so worried.”
