“Super Tekla”, one of the best comedians in the country had appealed to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and the Philippine government to look after the ‘mysterious’ death of his youngest OFW sister. He claimed their family cannot believe she committed suicide and had wanted to know the truth behind her death.
On Tuesday, “Super Tekla”, Romeo Librada in real life, posted a shout out to ask for help to determine what really happened to his sister in Kuwait. He claimed their family cannot see any reason why his sister would commit suicide.
In a report made by GMA News Online, Blas F. Ople had called on the attention of the government to look after the case of Super Tekla’s sister through his Blas F. Ople Policy Center.
On the other hand, Susan Ople, the chief of the pro-OFW group also appealed to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
“We call on the DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) to instruct our embassy in Kuwait to immediately request for an investigation into the alleged suicide case.”
She added, “The OFW’s family deserves to know the truth.”
Ople added that it’s about time our government agencies extend legal support to Super Tekla in these grieving times as he had made a big contribution in bringing laughter to the OFW community through his shows abroad.
Meanwhile, Super Tekla claimed should facts be established proving his sister to had committed suicide, their family will accept her fate.
“Ngayon po, kung siya naman po talaga ay nagpakamatay, tatanggapin po namin ‘yan, pero please, kailangan po namin na matulungan kami ng ating Embassy at ng ating gobyerno para matingnan at mabigyan ng agarang aksyon ang pagkamatay ng kapatid ko sa Kuwait.”
Based on many stories about OFWs who had died after being maltreated and abused by employers and made to appear that they committed suicide, Super Tekla hopes for the truth to come out and receive justice that his sister deserves.
