Overseas Filipino Worker in Guam is facing two counts of murder after getting involved in a shooting incident that killed two men by which they had a fight.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Nicholas Sagdal, 24-year-old. The case, two counts of aggravated murder, was filed against Sagdal last December 19.
According to reports, Sagdal shot A.V Mwarecheong, 25-year-old and Brokey Thamaso, 18-year-old, in a fight that happened in Hemlani’s Apartments in Harmon. The two died following the incident.
Allegedly, one out of the four men shot Sagdal in the face with the use of a slingshot in an argument. After that, the four men drove away but Sagdal chased them.
Sagdal was able to pull alongside their car and shot them continually. Mwarecheong and Thamaso was shot to death.
Sagdal, who’s allegedly a shooting instructor, regretted using his gun to resolve their conflict.
“I felt as though I shouldn’t have used my gun in this situation, but I was afraid for my life. I regret not resolving this another way,” according to a report in Inquirer.
The 9 mm Canik TP-9 handgun which was registered to Sagdal was confiscated.
The bail of Sagdal amounting to $500,000 was set by Judge Benjamin Sison Jr., according to the request of the prosecutors.
